Frequently Asked Questions

What is a legacy film and why should I make one?

Creating a Legacy Film preserves these moments in a way that photos or written stories alone cannot. A Legacy Film is a cinematic mini-documentary that captures the life, memories, and wisdom of a loved one. It focuses on personal stories, meaningful experiences, and the lessons they want to pass down to future generations.

How much does a Legacy Film cost?

Preserving a life story is an investment that grows in meaning over time. Starting at $3,000, our Legacy Film package delivers a 10–15 minute cinematic mini-documentary, thoughtfully crafted to be enjoyed and shared for generations.

Where does the filming take place?

We film in locations that feel meaningful and comfortable for your loved one. This could be your home, a favorite family space, or another location that holds special memories. Our goal is to create a relaxed, natural environment where stories flow easily and your Life Legacy Film feels personal and authentic. Wherever you choose, we’ll be there to bring your story to life.

What if I don’t have any good stories?

You don’t need grand or extraordinary events to tell a meaningful story. Life is made up of countless small, precious moments. From quiet smiles, shared laughter, everyday gestures of love. These simple experiences, when captured, can become some of the most powerful and lasting memories.

What if being on camera makes my family member uncomfortable?

We know that being on camera can feel a little daunting. That’s why we create a relaxed and comfortable environment, guiding the conversation naturally, more like sharing stories with a friend than giving an interview. The cameras are placed off to the side, so your loved one can focus on the conversation.

Can our whole family be in the film?

Our Legacy Films center on one person’s reflections — the memories, and life lessons they want to share with future generations. While family members can be part of the process and small shared moments can be included, the heart of the film remains on the individual’s story.

How long does the process take?

From our first conversation to the final delivery — takes 4 to 8 weeks. The main interview is usually filmed in a single session, lasting 1–2 hours, with an additional 1–2 hours spent capturing supplementary footage at your chosen location. We guide you every step of the way, keeping you informed and involved so your story is captured beautifully without feeling rushed.

Can we include our old family photos?

Absolutely! We include your cherished family photos to add depth and context to your Legacy Film. We ask you to select up to 25 photos, prior to filming which we will thoughtfully weave into your story for a seamless, meaningful experience.

Do you only make legacy films in Calgary, or can you travel?

Though we’re based in Calgary, Alberta, we work with families across Canada. Whether its in Victoria, Yellowknife, or Halifax. We’re happy to travel to your location to capture your story — additional travel fees do apply — so no matter where you are, we can help preserve your legacy.

Will the video be shared online?

Your Legacy Film is private and completely under your control. It will only be shared online if you choose to do so. We provide a digital file that can be easily stored, viewed, or shared with family and friends — but your story remains yours to share as you wish.

What if we want a longer film?

Our standard film runs 10–15 minutes, but if you’d like to include more stories, memories, or special moments, we can create a longer version. Additional footage and editing are available for a modest investment, giving us the time to craft a film that fully honors your loved one’s life and preserves the memories that matter most to you and your family.

How will the film be delivered?

You will receive a USB keepsake of the film along with a digitally delivered copy via a secure download link making it easy to share with other family members. You will receive your film in stunning 4K, along with an HD version for easier sharing.
